To select suitable strains of Lentinula edodes for cultivation in the Ankang region, fifteen strains were collected and compared to the control strain 9608. The comparison focused on cytological characteristics (somatic cell incompatibility), morphological traits, antagonistic interactions among strains, mycelial growth rate, yield, and agronomic traits of fruit bodies. The results indicated that the tested strains exhibited varying degrees of antagonistic reactions, highlighting significant genetic diversity. The tested strains exhibited uniformly white mycelia, but showed notable differences in colony morphology, edge morphology, mycelial growth rate, fruiting body formation time, yield, cap thickness, cap diameter, stem length, and stem diameter. Strains Ankang-2, Huixian-1, and Qihe-9 were identified as superior varieties based on their high yield and overall commercial performance, making them suitable candidates for demonstration and promotion in shiitake mushroom production in the Ankang region. |
